Staff Accountant
Position: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller or Accounting Manager
Job Purpose:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Perform account analysis and reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis
• Work collaboratively with other departments to provide financial support and analysis
• Assist in audit preparations by providing and reviewing financial information and reports
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 2-3 years of accounting experience in a similar role
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks or NetSuite
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• CPA or other relevant certification preferred
Working Conditions:
The Staff Accountant will work in an office environment and may be required to work long hours during month-end and year-end closing periods. Some travel may be required for auditing purposes.
